1.What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. In simple terms, it is the process of improving one's website to increase its visibility for relevant searches. Keep in mind, this is not always a guarantee to pull or forward traffic to your site. The better visibility your pages have in Google search results, the better you’re able to garner attention and attract customers to your business.

2.What is the average time for a site to start ranking on Google?

This all depends on the site, but it’s usually about a week. Sometimes, it can be around 48 hours to 90 days.

3.What are SEO Keywords?

SEO keywords are specific words or phrases that helps the Google search engine look for individual pages on your site. A website that is well optimized for search engines tends to speak the same language as its potential visitor base with keywords for SEO. These keywords ultimately help connect searchers to your site.

4.What are the benefits of SEO for a small business?

When starting a new site for a small business, SEO helps with letting Google know you are a trusted site. SEO also helps with getting results through keyword searches and gaining new customer traffic. Having said all that, new customer traffic only helps to a certain point.

While SEO can bring a site’s ranking up on the Google search engine, social media can bring overall traffic to your site which helps increase a site's SEO. However, SEO does not always bring traffic; it only increases your ranking. Any good digital marketing strategy should do its best to have both SEO and social media working together, in tandem. Here are some ways that SEO works together with social media to bring more visitors to your site:

A.Social media allows for content promotion

B.Social media encourages more engagement

C.Social sharing can lead to link building

D.Increased brand awareness improves your SEO ranking

6.How often does SEO need to be changed or updated with a site?

When writing SEO, you are writing for a minimum of one year. The first step is to analyze that years' worth of Google search console and Google analytics data. After analyzing, you can then make the changes and updates where it is most needed to help improve the site. Optimally, once in three months is a reliable frequency, yet revisiting your keyword use once every six months is also a viable option.

7.What is Google Search Console and Google analytics? How do they help with SEO?

Google Search Console is a web service by Google which allows webmasters to check indexing status and optimize visibility of websites. Overall, it is a free service that helps monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot a site’s presence in Google Search results. On the other hand, Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic; this is currently a platform inside the Google Marketing Platform brand. It is also user-oriented which provides data of how many people are visiting and interacting with a client's website.

8.What would you say are some of the biggest misconceptions about SEO writing that most people don’t know about?

A.You have to be number one on the first page of Google

B.You don’t need SEO

C. You’re going to see immediate results

You have to be number one on the first page of Google – Just because you are not ranked number one on the first page, does not mean your site is going unnoticed. Most consumers don’t even see what they are searching for on the first page of Google, so don’t let page order discourage you. In most cases, some will go as far as the third page to find what they are looking for.

You don’t need SEO
– Many internet users believe that Search Engine Optimization is a scam. Some may look at SEO as a big myth that you have to pay a considerable amount of money to receive the best results. The truth of the matter is, SEO is very important to have. Without SEO, Google may detect the site as a scam which then becomes an untrustworthy site to use.

You’re going to see immediate results – One of the biggest myths about SEO is you see immediate results within a minute. Of course, being number one on the top pages with thousands of people searching and visiting your site is ideal. Unfortunately, this is completely false. If SEO worked that quickly, then every site would be number one on the first page of Google. With any results, it can take as little as two to 90 days to see your site on page one on the Google search engine. It can take up to a whole year of analyzing data to improve your site to fit the correct target audience. The process of distinguishing and fixing the issues to get a profitable site can take time, so stay patient!
