A March 2021 survey by the American Psychological Association found that about half of the respondents feel uneasy about returning to in-person interaction once the pandemic ends. Summer has already proven to be safer during the pandemic than the wintertime. Currently, a little more than 15.8 percent of the population have been fully immunized. What we know so far is that fully vaccinated people can safely gather with other vaccinated people without masks. This means people will most likely start to feel more comfortable attending larger events this summer such as concerts, vacations, weddings, etc. This gives people the opportunity to grow their social media followings as they start attending events and doing more activities.

If you want to increase social media engagement on your pages, you’ll need to grow your followers and reach. The more followers you have, the more engagement you’re likely to receive. This will easily set your content apart which is likely to increase your engagement, as people become drawn to your one-of-a-kind content. 2. Use Event-Related Hashtags and Geotags
As more people will be attending large events, this summer is the perfect opportunity to use relevant hashtags and geotags to increase your content exposure. This ensures you are reaching as many people on the social media platform as possible. Event-related hashtags involve events taking place in your industry or location. These hashtags can include well-known events in your local area, country, or the world that are on the minds of the masses at a given time. When selecting a geotag, we encourage you to choose larger cities rather than towns with smaller populations. For example, it may be in your best interest to geotag St. Louis rather than St. Peters in order to reach a larger number of users. Be mindful that you are staying consistent and hash tagging your geotagged location as well.

Whether it be for your personal or business social media platforms, it is crucial to stay relevant. One way to get involved is through commenting and responding to trending accounts. Take advantage of the fact that certain topics trend every single day, so join in on the conversation. Jumping on trending topics can be beneficial to your daily social media marketing efforts. Marketers have long used social media trends to connect with followers and join in on relevant conversations happening on a global scale, so get your name out there! The correct type of involvement can signal significant rewards.
